Horror Favorites With SCRM Radio Founder Tra Cee
Tra Cee is a singer and family woman from the midwest who doubles her time as a streaming radio station runner dedicated to all things horror called SCRM Radio. This tune-in is where you can get horror news, audible narratives, paranormal shows, and general chat about horror culture. In the thick of her horror community cultivation, there are a few gaps in Tra Cee's selfless social media presence when it comes to horror. In this next installment of Horror Favorites, Tra Cee shows her respect for multiple characters and aspects of the genre, including finding little fault with anything Stephen King has ever written.
Favorite horror films with dolls? My favorite Horror Film with dolls would have to be Child’s Play – the first one of course. Although I do like Bride of Chucky. I’d also have to add – Trilogy of Terror’s Zuni Fetish Doll.
Favorite horror film with ghosts? My favorite film with ghosts is Thir13en Ghosts – The 13 ghosts of the Black Zodiac were awesome and I wish there was movie made about all of them. But it is tied with Ghost Story. I will always love that movie.
Favorite horror film with witches? My favorite film with witches is The Craft – hands down, followed by The Witches of Eastwick. Fave line: “We are the weirdos mister.”
Favorite horror film with demons? Wow – that is a hard one! It would have to be Evil Dead. Can’t go wrong with Deadites. Plus – Groovy Bruce is King, you know? Honorable mention: Hellraiser.
Favorite horror film with mirrors? That would have to be Oculus. Mike Flanagan and Jeffrey Howard did a great job on that film. I also like Mirrors – the bathtub scene made me cringe!
Favorite horror film with snakes? Venom (2005) – that was a brutal film, with the evil spirits invading the guy in the form of snakes. Admittedly it wasn’t the greatest film, but it did have some great kills.
Favorite horror film with aliens? Gosh – that would have to be Aliens. While I love the original, part 2 was awesome to me! Sigourney Weaver in a loader fighting a giant alien saying my favorite line – what could be better. Of course there is a tie: The Thing. The head spider. ‘Nuff said.
Favorite horror film franchise? I would have to say Scream. To me they have all been solid entries, and I love them all.
Favorite horror film hero? There is a tie. Alice – Resident Evil. Ash – Evil Dead. Ripley – Aliens. And of course – Laurie Strode! There are many more, but I won’t bore you by naming them all.
Favorite horror film villain? There are many – Pinhead, Freddy (of course!), Jason, Michael Myers, Annie Wilkes, Hannibal Lecter, just to name a few.
Favorite horror film comedy? Tucker and Dale vs Evil. I am not a fan of comedy in general, much less horror comedy, but I am glad I ran across this gem.
Also, Don’t Kill It has comedic elements in it, and is pretty good too.
Favorite horror film scene? Again, there are so many, but the one that immediately sprang to mind was the scene in Thir13en Ghosts where he jumped onto the machine to save his son and daughter.
Favorite horror film kill? Oooh….That would have to be A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 – The Dream Warriors, the tv room scene! “Welcome to the prime time…” well, you know the rest.
Favorite horror TV show? Supernatural hands down! I love Sam and Dean – and will always love Jeffrey Dean Morgan as their dad. Honorable mentions: Hannibal, The Exorcist, Sleepy Hollow, Grimm, Bates Motel – just to name a few.
Favorite horror book? Rose Madder. I love Stephen King and all he writes, good or bad. But this book – it is my favorite. This needs to be a movie.
Favorite horror collectible you own? A signed photo of Kelly Jo Minter – she is awesome.
Horror film that you hate but everyone else loves? The Lords of Salem. Watched it once, never again. Also, Shocker. Hate that film.
Horror film that you love but everyone else hates? That’s a hard question. The only time I’ve ever had anyone disagree with me was on Funny Games. But there are far more that at least like it, than not.
